  Processo tramite il quale viene data vita autonoma ad un ramo d'azienda di un'impresa. Al fine di non ledere gli interessi degli azionisti dell'impresa madre, a questi ultimi vengono di solito riconosciuti dei diritti sul capitale dell'impresa scorporata.
  Termine inglese per identificare lo scorporo di un ramo di impresa e consentire all'impresa di essere più focalizzata nella sua attività principale. Comuni sono quelli immobiliari come quello dell'INA da cui è nata l'UNIM.
